A note before you read: we make Posto, so we're not neutral. We've tried to be fair anyway. Every price and feature below comes from each app's own Shopify App Store listing or published information, or Shopify's help center, checked between September 30 and October 2, 2026, and we say where another option fits better than ours.
The quick answer
- You already know what to order: Shopify's built-in purchase orders.
- You want everything Stocky did, free: Stockroom.
- You want to know what to reorder, with the math shown, on a small-store budget: Posto.
- You run a retail store and want something that feels like Stocky, with barcodes and stocktakes: Stockie.
- You pack and ship orders yourself and want scanning built in: EasyScan.
- You're a growing brand that wants AI forecasting, raw materials, and lots of integrations: Prediko.
- You run several locations and want deep reporting: Assisty.
- You mainly need purchase orders, receiving, and landed cost for as little as possible: Replenio.
What Stocky users need to know first
Stocky stopped working on August 31, 2026. You keep read-only access for at least 90 days after that to export purchase orders, inventory history, and historical costs as CSV. Suppliers can't be exported, and Shopify says historical Stocky purchase orders can't be imported into Shopify itself. Stocky's APIs also stopped on August 31, so any tool that imported straight from Stocky can't do that anymore. Export your files now, whichever option you choose. Our Stocky export guide covers what to save.
Shopify's built-in purchase orders and Sidekick
Best for: stores that already know what to order and want to stay inside the Shopify admin.
- What stands out: suppliers with payment terms and currencies, costs that fill in from past orders, CSV and barcode scanning to add products, a PDF to send your supplier, and receiving on a linked transfer. Shopify's assistant, Sidekick, can recommend what to reorder and draft the purchase order.
- Worth knowing: you can't email a purchase order from the admin, and supplier lead times, minimums, and case packs aren't used in purchase order calculations. See Posto vs. Shopify purchase orders and Posto vs. Sidekick.
Stockroom
Best for: stores that want a broad, Stocky-style toolkit without paying for it.
- Price: free.
- Badge: Built for Shopify. It launched in July 2026.
- What stands out: unlimited purchase orders and suppliers, emailed PDFs, partial receiving, returns to suppliers, stock counts, transfers, labels, bills of materials, landed costs, Shopify POS, and QuickBooks or Xero sync through MyWorks, the company that makes it.
- Worth knowing: its listing shows access to customer names, emails, phone numbers, and addresses. See Posto vs. Stockroom.
Posto (that's us)
Best for: small brands with a handful of suppliers who want to know what to reorder, when, and how much, and see why.
- Price: free for 1 supplier and 50 products, $19 a month for up to 5 suppliers, $39 a month for unlimited. Every feature on every plan, 30-day free trial.
- What stands out: a forecast with Black Friday and the holiday peak built in, stockout days left out of demand, a breakdown on every number, orders rounded to supplier minimums and case packs, purchase orders emailed from the app, and landed cost per unit. It imports Stocky's CSV exports and never reads customer details.
- Worth knowing: Posto is new. It forecasts from about the last 60 days of orders. It has no barcode scanning, no accounting sync, and no per-location forecasting.
Stockie Inventory Management
Best for: retail stores that want a Stocky-like feel, with barcodes, stocktakes, and locations counted separately.
- Price: $4.99, $9.99, $29.99, and $59.99 a month, with a 14-day trial. Forecasting starts on the $29.99 plan, and purchase orders are on the $59.99 plan.
- Badge: Built for Shopify.
- Worth knowing: if you need purchase orders, you're on the top plan. See Posto vs. Stockie.
EasyScan
Best for: stores that pick, pack, and ship their own orders and want barcode scanning throughout.
- Price: $9.99, $39.99, $79.99, and $129.99 a month, with a 10-day trial. Purchase orders and forecasting are on the $79.99 plan.
- Track record: on the App Store since 2020.
- Worth knowing: its own migration guide says its Stocky supplier importer reads through Stocky's API, which stopped on August 31. See Posto vs. EasyScan.
Prediko Inventory Management
Best for: growing brands that want AI forecasting, raw materials planning, and a wide range of integrations.
- Price: set by store revenue: $49 a month up to $100K, $119 up to $500K, $199 up to $2M, and custom pricing above that. 14-day trial.
- Worth knowing: the price goes up as your revenue grows. See Posto vs. Prediko and Prediko alternatives.
Inventory Management by Assisty
Best for: multi-location stores that want deep reporting and AI replenishment.
- Price: a free reporting plan, then plans tied to your Shopify plan: $19, $59, and $199 a month. The listing shows AI forecasting and purchase orders on the $199 plan, so check their pricing page for what your plan includes.
- Worth knowing: the price depends on which Shopify plan you're on. See Posto vs. Assisty.
Replenio Purchase Orders
Best for: stores that mainly need purchase orders, receiving, and true unit costs, on the smallest budget.
- Price: a free plan with unlimited purchase orders, landed cost, and barcode scanning, plus up to 100 supplier emails a month. Pro is $14.99 a month.
- Worth knowing: it launched in July 2026, and its reorder suggestions are simpler than a full forecast.
How to choose
- Is the hard part deciding what to buy, or recording what you bought? If it's recording, Shopify's built-in tools, Stockroom, or Replenio may be enough. If it's deciding, look at Posto, Stockie, Prediko, or Assisty.
- Do you need barcodes and stocktakes? Stockroom, Stockie, EasyScan, Prediko, Assisty, and Replenio have them. Posto doesn't.
- How do you want to be charged? Free (Stockroom), by features (Stockie, EasyScan), by revenue (Prediko), by Shopify plan (Assisty), or by number of suppliers (Posto).
- Do you want to see how the forecast works? Try each one with a product you know well and check whether its suggestion makes sense to you. Our reorder point guide shows the math to check against.
