A note before you read: we make Posto, so we're not neutral. We've tried to be fair anyway. Every price and feature below comes from Assisty's own Shopify App Store listing, checked on October 1, 2026, and we say plainly where Assisty is the better choice.
The short version
Choose Assisty if you run several locations and want deep reporting, AI forecasting, stock counts, and transfers, with a Stocky migration done for you. Choose Posto if you're a small brand with a handful of suppliers who wants purchase orders, receiving, and landed cost without paying for a top-tier plan.
What it costs
- Assisty: a free plan with 6 months of sales history and reporting, then plans named for Shopify plans: $19 a month (Basic Shopify), $59 (Advanced Shopify), and $199 (Shopify Plus). The listing shows AI forecasting and purchase orders and receiving on the $199 plan, so check Assisty's pricing page for what your plan includes. 14-day free trial.
- Posto: free for 1 supplier and 50 products, $19 a month for up to 5 suppliers, and $39 a month for unlimited. Every plan includes forecasting, purchase orders, emailing, receiving, and landed cost. 30-day free trial.
- An example: a store with 3 suppliers that wants forecasting and purchase orders pays $19 a month on Posto. On Assisty, the listing places purchase orders on the $199 plan.
Where Assisty is ahead
- Track record. On the App Store since 2021. Posto is new.
- Reporting. 300+ inventory reports and an AI report builder you can ask questions in plain English. Posto's reporting is limited to its recommendations and low-stock emails.
- Locations. Multi-location replenishment, transfer suggestions, stock counts, and adjustments. Posto forecasts store-wide.
- Stocky migration. Assisty's listing says suppliers and purchase orders migrate from Stocky automatically. Posto imports Stocky's purchase order exports by CSV and rebuilds your suppliers from them, with a preview before anything saves.
- A free reporting plan and a mobile experience.
Where Posto goes further
- Purchase orders on every plan. Drafting, emailing with a PDF, receiving, and landed cost are included from Posto's free plan. Assisty's listing places purchase orders and receiving on its $199 plan.
- Price that doesn't follow your Shopify plan. Posto's price depends only on how many suppliers you order from.
- Math you can check. Posto uses standard inventory math and shows the working behind every recommendation. Assisty uses AI and machine learning models.
- Your customers stay private. Assisty's listing shows access to customer names, email addresses, phone numbers, and physical addresses, plus Shopify Payments payouts and disputes. Posto never reads customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details, because forecasting doesn't need them.
- A longer trial. 30 days with everything unlocked, compared with Assisty's 14.
What they share
Both forecast demand, calculate reorder points, create purchase orders per supplier, and help you move from Stocky.
