A note before you read: we make Posto, so we're not neutral. We've tried to be fair anyway. Every price and feature below comes from Stockie's own Shopify App Store listing and website, checked on October 1 and 3, 2026, and we say plainly where Stockie is the better choice.
The short version
Choose Stockie if you run a retail store that needs barcode receiving, stocktakes, and forecasting by location, and you're happy to pay $59.99 a month for purchase orders. Choose Posto if you're a small brand with a handful of suppliers who wants forecasting, purchase orders, and landed cost on a smaller budget, with every feature on every plan.
What it costs
- Stockie: $4.99 and $9.99 a month for low-stock alerts, $29.99 for forecasting, and $59.99 for purchase orders, receiving, landed cost, and emailing orders to suppliers. 14-day free trial.
- Posto: free for 1 supplier and 50 products, $19 a month for up to 5 suppliers, and $39 a month for unlimited. Every plan includes forecasting, purchase orders, emailing, receiving, and landed cost. 30-day free trial.
- An example: a brand buying from 4 suppliers that wants forecasting and purchase orders pays $59.99 a month on Stockie and $19 a month on Posto.
Where Stockie is ahead
- Track record. Stockie launched in 2021 and carries Shopify's Built for Shopify badge. Posto is new.
- Barcodes and counts. Barcode receiving, full stocktakes, and cycle counts. Posto has none of these.
- Locations. Forecasting by location, plus min/max levels per item and location. Posto forecasts store-wide.
- Costing. Weighted average cost and inventory valuation reports.
- More connections. Slack alerts, an API, and supplier currencies on purchase orders.
- Hands-on Stocky migration. Stockie's website says a person on its team runs your Stocky import for you.
Where Posto goes further
- Purchase orders on every plan. Drafting, emailing with a PDF, receiving, and landed cost are included from the free plan. On Stockie, they're on the $59.99 plan.
- Priced by suppliers. Posto's paid plans include unlimited products, so a big catalog doesn't cost more. You pay for how many suppliers you order from.
- Peaks built in. Posto's forecast builds in Black Friday and the holiday peak, and leaves stockout days out of demand. Stockie lets you pick a lookback window and adjust demand by hand for a season you know is coming.
- Real delivery times. Stockie's website describes lead times you set per supplier or product. Posto starts with the lead time you set, then switches to how long deliveries actually took once 3 orders from a supplier have arrived.
- Sales at risk. Each recommendation estimates the sales you'd lose if you wait.
- A longer trial. 30 days with everything unlocked, compared with Stockie's 14.
What they share
Both show the math behind every reorder suggestion rather than an unexplained number, both round orders to supplier minimums and case packs, and both import Stocky exports.
